Glossary
The words Groundwork uses, each in one line.
- Card — one small piece of work, with a checklist of what "done" means.
- Phase — a group of cards that together leave something working, like a milestone.
- Evidence — the proof a card is done, such as test output or screenshots, saved next to the card.
- Handoff — the note in
HANDOFF.mdthat says where things stand, so any session can pick up the work. - Lesson — a mistake written down so it doesn't happen twice, kept in
LESSONS.md. - Decision — a stack or design choice, recorded with the options you chose from, in
.groundwork/decisions/. - Guard — a small script that blocks an action outright, once a rule keeps being broken.
- Runner — the main session that hands a card to each role; you start it with
/gw. - Quick path — one-pass mode for small, low-risk changes; no card, but the checks still run.
- Baseline — the recorded state of the checks on an existing project, so only new failures block work.
